Capital city of Germany, Berlin remains an emerging metropolis compare to european metropolis. Its area of 890 km², larger than the Greater Paris’ area, hosts a growing population (3,4 million inhabitants in 2014).
Urban challenges resulting from the climate change issue led Berlin’s local authorities to encourage the development of a compact city.
Projects as Europacity aim at revitalizing the inner city, still marked by former spaces of the wall. To know more about it, I met Manfred Kuehne, Director of the development and urban planning department of the Senate of Berlin.
